forgive me.
My tears do not answer the questions
that I’ve been screaming to the stars.
My sullen eyes are soaked with reasons to give up,
They bleed a thousand apologies
for things not understood.
This solemn stare speaks loudly
but even that is no good,
For it is answered by no one.
I’m sorry that nothing tragic has ever happened in my life.

She whispered to me a thousand secrets,
A thousand keys
To a thousand doors
Hidden in her mind.
A thousand promises
That I shall protect with my life.
A thousand reasons to love, to trust.
And still a thousand reasons to be afraid.
She whispers to me a thousand secrets,
And so I whisper back,
“I love you.”

Those moments of silence

life.
