I'll be waiting
I’ll be waiting
You’re ever so comely,
So poise, yet I admit, You’d be lovelier
If you weren’t always vanishing
Off into the distance, disappearing,
If you ever learned to persevere
Instead of trying to escape
The uncertain fates you so clearly fear.
You flourish so well,
In everything life shells
Out, yet I admit, you’d bloom healthier,
If you saved some room for a little humor in there,
If, only, you hadn’t given up on the one who truly cared,
I never left, yet you neglected me so,
And still I persevere, just so you know.
I’ll sit idly by watching,
My phone waiting
For your call,
If you ever at all.
When you’re through with
The world taking advantage,
I’ll be waiting in the stands.
